“Encouraged, not burdened, by the history that they create. They know what is expected of them. They are Manchester United.”

Every tear of joy and disappointment, every fightback, every scarf raised above your head, every prayer, every hug, every record broken, every manager, every protest, every chant, every celebration, every wish granted, every legend, every relegation battle, every moment of magic, every kit, every red card, every Busby Babe, every heartbeat, every ounce of despair and elation, every banner, every tragedy, every bead of sweat, every Stretford Ender, every milestone, every last-gasp goal, every limit pushed, every captain, every derby, every splash of green and gold, every roar of the crowd, every dream come true. It has all moulded us into the club we are today, united through it all. 134 years later, we’re still singing, still waving that flag, still here. And we’re not going anywhere.

Happy birthday to our Newton Heath, our Manchester United, our football club, the greatest in the world.

“Cultured left foot, Mr Composure on the ball, you could go on and on, but he’s a really nice lad.”
- Anthony Gerrard on Andrew Taylor.

“He reads the game so intelligently and protects the back four with interceptions rather than crunching challenges. I think that goes unnoticed sometimes, but he brings a lovely sort of balance to more attacking players like Rooney, Scholes, Giggs and Nani. He allows them to go on and get on with attacking, while he takes care of everything else.”
- Bryan Robson.

As United supporters, even with all the glory, the history making and record breaking we have witnessed, we are not invincible. There are disappointments, tragedies, days we would rather forget. However, fortunately for us, we have many more reasons to smile than to frown. We have United, and that is all we need.

“Manchester United is stronger than anybody in the world.”
- Eric Cantona.

“Manchester United is a fantastic club; it is like a family. I’ve dreamed about playing for United. I have dreamed of this my whole life.”
- Mats Møller Dæhli.
